Finger shooters will require an arrow rest with side support.  Release aid compound shooters either shoot a drop away arrow rest or an arrow rest which supports the arrow from below.

Fall away arrow rest - many archers believe that these arrow rests provide the ultimate in arrow clearance - however many archers beleive that a conistent arrow rest is the key.

Compound target archers and hunters at elite and begineer level choose eith type of rest to what would appear similar results.
