Sable is Red Dragon's Switch Point range — three barrel shapes under one finish, all with a firm grip rated 4 out of 5, and all taking interchangeable points you can swap with the supplied tool instead of having the barrel repointed.

The Parallel is the straight one — one diameter from nose to tail, no taper, no swell. Nothing about the shape tells you where to hold it, which is exactly the appeal if you have already worked out your grip and don't want a barrel arguing with it.

The four weights are worth looking at closely. The 21g and 22g are both 6.6mm, identical in every dimension, differing only in mass — so you can add a gram without changing a single thing about how the dart sits in your fingers. Then 23g goes to 6.75mm and 24g to 6.85mm. Single gram steps across the whole range make this one of the easier ranges to settle in.

At 6.6mm on a 50.8mm barrel it's conventional tournament proportions, slim enough that three darts share a treble comfortably.

Supplied with Nitro Flite integrated flights and shafts, 26mm smooth black Switch Points and the tool.
